Welcome all new and current students. Thank you for your interest in the Department of Public Administration and Information Convergence and for participating in the department's development efforts as a member. The world is becoming more complex and more uncertain. It is also the reason why the Fourth Industrial Revolution emerged. As new technologies such as artificial intelligence, big data, and cloud computing that lead the Fourth Industrial Revolution are commonly utilized, convergence knowledge for intelligence of individuals, companies, and governments has become important. The upcoming future society desperately needs competent human resources with convergence knowledge to understand complex public problems correctly and solve them agilely. The Department of Public Administration and Information Convergence aims to cultivate talented people with diverse convergence knowledge required by central and local government as well as public sector agencies such as public enterprises.

Introduction

Students of the Department of Public Administration and Information Convergence will learn the knowledge and capabilities to solve public problems scientifically, intelligently, and innovatively and provide optimal services that citizens can sympathize with by integrating various disciplines of public administration with new intelligent information technologies in the era of the 4th industrial revolution.

Graduates who have cultivated convergence knowledge across the public and private sectors can be employed by promising public and private companies as well as general public officials. In particular, the social advancement of graduates with convergence knowledge is very successful and active. In order to solve complex problems beyond traditional public administration, we have been running a systematic customized curriculum for four years to be able to think creatively and solve them intelligently. Students will learn not only traditional public administration subjects, but also various convergence knowledge subjects such as statistical analysis and scientific management techniques, big data analysis and artificial intelligence utilization, creative system thinking and simulation, programming language and information system management, and government accounting, which are increasingly important in the public sector.

The teaching method of the Department of Public Administration and Information Convergenc applies various innovative education techniques to overcome the limitations of theoretical education to increase practical application capabilities, and operates a computer lab per person to enhance the ability to promote information technology convergence administration based on computer use. The careers of graduates who complete the information technology knowledge convergence curriculum are open not only to public officials and public enterprises, but also to various fields and graduate schools in the private sector, and they are entering society as talented people who lead wise lives.
