Korea National University of Transportation established the Department of Industrial Cosmetic Science in November 2022 by participating in the University system of Chungbuk Bio-PRIDE, which was established in cooperation with local governments (Chungcheongbuk-do) and 15 Universities in the province.

Introduction

The Department of Industrial Cosmetic Science is a department for the joint curriculum operation of 15 universities in Chungbuk. It aims to cultivate practical talents who will contribute to the bio-health industry, one of the three major industries in Chungcheongbuk-do.

Through the operation of the Department of Industrial Cosmetic Science, we intend to promote higher education innovation to operate a joint curriculum between universities and foster creative convergence talents.

35 2 1 Food Science and Biotechnology 3-3-0 Modern food life science is based on various academic fields such as microbiology, chemistry, engineering, and biotechnology. The Food and Life Sciences course introduces the overall basic knowledge of how these knowledge can be applied to the food industry, and presents a future vision for the food science field to students studying food science.
34 2 1 Food and Environment 3-3-0 Various agricultural food wastes and by-products, in other words, lectures are given on fruit processing by-products, fruit and vegetable by-products, tofu meal, mushroom cultivation by-products, classification, current status, nutritional properties as feed, and fermented feed manufacturing and principles.

32 2 1 Biomass chemistry 3-2-2 To teach the chemical constituent of wood, distribution of chemical components in wood, polymeric structure of wood consisting components and their deriviatvies, analysis of wood components, and isolation of wood components and their utilization.
31 2 1 Biohealth Industry and Intellectual Property 3-3-0 This course is designed to understand the basic concept of intellectual property rights system unique to the biohealth industry through important domestic and international patent litigation cases in the field of biohealth industry. In addition, it delivers three-dimensional knowledge about major laws and regulations that researchers need to know in the biohealth industry, how to use intellectual property at each stage of R&D, checklists, and related support projects. Finally, various cases of analyzing intellectual property trends and important issues in the biohealth industry are reviewed.
30 2 1 Life Science Basics 3-3-0 This course is designed to introduce basic concepts to students with various backgrounds about life science, and to understand various biological phenomena. As a basic subject, the purpose of this course is to understand the integrated knowledge of life science, to learn scientific processes and methods for this, and to develop the ability to apply scientific knowledge to solve personal and social problems. It aims to satisfy the basic academic achievements that the Bio-Health majors must have.
29 2 1 Plant Physiology 3-3-0 This course is designed to introduce basic concepts to students with various backgrounds about plant physiology, including the structure of plants, water relations and nutrient uptake, photosynthesis, respiration, growth and development, flowering and fruit development, and environmental response. Based on the knowledge of phenomena of plant life, it is expected that it will be helpful to students in their studies, research, and practice in various natural materials such as crop production and plant disease management fields.
