Welcome to the Department of Welfare & Management, Future Convergence College, Korea National Transportation University.


The more complex society becomes, the wider the spectrum of social problems. Beyond poverty and inequality, the risk of low birth rates and aging has also emerged, and there have been many attempts in the areas of policy, clinical and service to address these issues.


The entities that solve these social problems are no longer limited to social welfare organizations. Numerous non-profit organizations and social economy organizations, including social welfare institutions, are making ceaseless efforts to build a welfare ecosystem. Modern society demands a high level of expertise from these organizations. In particular, top management are required not only to have expertise in problem solving, but also to have expertise in efficient organizational management.


The Department of Welfare & Management has prepared a differentiated curriculum to meet the trends and demands of the times. Based on the academic foundation of social welfare, we have created the best curriculum so that you can learn theoretical and practical knowledge and skills regarding the establishment of non-profit organizations, institutional management, and start-up of social economy enterprises.

Introduction

The Department of Welfare & Management is the only Welfare + ManagementConvergence education department at a university in Korea.

The Department of Welfare & Management is the only department in Korea that is based on the academic convergence of social welfare and business administration. Similar existing education systems combined some of the management perspectives with social welfare studies. Therefore, the educational curriculum also focuses on ‘efficient operation of social welfare organizations.’

However, this department has established a new level of welfare + managementconvergence education system through joint research by professors majoring in social welfare and professors majoring in business administration, and has created an independent curriculum to train management experts.

 

We operate with a differentiated curriculum.

The Department of Welfare and Management is the best convergence major that trains management experts for non-profit organizations and social economy organizations encompassing the social welfare field with a differentiated curriculum and cultivates talent who will lead innovation in the startup ecosystem.

This lecture is aimed at students seeking basic knowledge of social welfare and is conducted as a way to introduce the fundamental topics of social welfare. We look at the situation related to human needs and social problems as the background from which the concept of social welfare is derived, and then look at topics such as the essence of social welfare, ideology, ethics, history, and policy.
40 1 1 Idea Cube for Three-dimensional Thinking 3-3-0 This subject deals with idea generation methods for creative planning. In order to plan, you must understand the essence of the problem, and in order to understand the essence, you must develop a three-dimensional perspective on the phenomenon. Therefore, we learn creative social problem-solving models and conduct training to develop three-dimensional thinking skills through idea cubes.
39 1 1 In Search of Social Values 3-3-0 Help students understand the basic values and concepts of various social economic enterprises such as social enterprises, village enterprises, self-reliance enterprises, cooperatives, social cooperatives, and social service organizations, and analyze the social contribution activities of for-profit enterprises to establish enterprises based on social values. Cultivate basic knowledge so that it can be applied throughout the department and operation.
38 1 1 Social Value and Management 3-3-0 In order to create both economic and social values, it aims to expand the framework of perspective and thinking about the management process, such as the business environment surrounding management, managers and employees inside the company, and the management activities that are actually managed. In particular, it aims to understand actual corporate management rather than the theoretical development of business administration, and allows learners who are new to the discipline of management or want to systematically learn management theory to derive theoretical implications for management to create shared value by learning theories and examples of corporate management.
37 1 1 Human Psychology and Leader 3-3-0 In order to increase organizational effectiveness in companies and organizations, we study the human behavior of members working in the organization and explore human resource analysis, one of the key elements of organizational operation, using an organizational psychology framework. Let's consider the manager's organizational management ability, the behavior patterns of the organization members, and the way of thinking of consumers in terms of emotional interaction, and see what results can occur at a practical level.
36 1 2 Social Work with Families 3-3-0 In order to understand families that change according to various social conditions in modern society, we study family structure, family management, family functions, family life cycle, and family problems, and examine the status of family welfare policies and services. And learn about family welfare service targets, circumstances and theories about family problems, etc.
35 1 2 Community Welfare 3-3-0 Based on an understanding of the concept of region, we introduce models and principles of community organizations that can be used to solve various social problems in the community and the intervention role of social workers, and how to conduct regional development, social planning, functional intervention, etc. We study whether models can be applied to solve community problems in Korea.
34 1 2 Social Welfare Administration 3-3-0 The basic purpose is to enable students to understand the characteristics and actions of social welfare organizations based on theories about general organization and administration, and to have a framework for applying this to the management of social welfare organizations. To this end, we introduce various theories related to organizational behavior and management so that students can structure the knowledge and skills related to organization and management required to run a social welfare organization effectively and efficiently.
33 1 2 What If I Were the CEO of NPO? 3-3-0 Covers general management theories according to the characteristics of non-profit organizations. Learn business planning and strategic planning based on the mission, vision, and core value system of a non-profit organization, and be able to construct a non-profit organization's management strategy based on actual case analysis.
32 1 2 Good Leader & Good Leadership 3-3-0 Understanding the organizational structure and influencing factors to be considered in the organizational structure design process should be understood, and on this basis, a basic thinking framework for the rationality of organizational management should be established. In addition, in the era of infinite competition in the 21st century digital revolution, internet revolution, and e-business revolution, we consider innovative leaders who will creatively and challenge change and innovation in a series of uncertainties. Understand that the true value of talent appears only when the organization's capabilities are continuously upgraded while demonstrating leadership, and learn about the organizational management ability of Micro and Macro concepts and the comprehensive management ability of Mega.
