Vision of the College of Health and Life Science is to foster health personnel, biotechnologists and early childhood special education teacher who will lead a global society of the future.
This department fosters professional nurses who help maintenance of and enhancement of optimal health state by learning in-depth knowledge in nursing and sharpen techniques through clinical trainings. After acquiring license as a nurse, graduates can work as a clinical nurse or in government agencies for nursing or health, a nurse in medical center in corporations, health teacher, nurse-midwife, health educator, health counsellor in health and medical industries, head of nursery facilities, medical care facilities for the elderly or postnatal care centers health counsellor or nurses overseas
Division of Food Science and Biotechnology is composed of the Major of Food Engineering, Biotechnology and Food and Nutrition, and the first year is operated as an integrated course, and students will be completing detailed major from second year.
Based on theories on components, physical and chemical properties of food and characteristics of food materials, this department helps students to gain expertise and techniques on food processing, quality and microorganism management of manufactured food to lead the age of food engineering. After graduation, students can work in food manufacturing and process companies, food distribution, food development and research institutes or as food-related civil servants, in pharmaceutical or cosmetology companies, or teaches in vocational schools. And they can have opportunities to continue their study by entering graduate school for food engineering. Bio Food School Company under Food Engineering engages students in the entire process from development of materials for functional food to its manufacturing and commercialization, to allow them to gain hands-on experience in the field and scholarship is granted to them.
This department nurtures nutritionists with expertise on food and nutrition or functional food supplements for patents or senior citizens in this aging society which seeks for reduction in adult diseases and healthy longevity.
As a new convergence field in the 21st century that life science, medicine, science of cosmetics and science of bio new materials are converged, biotechnology is the most advanced study that researches bio new materials in various shapes necessary for human health and environmental improvement. To nurture manpower with competitiveness to be engaged in the bio industry, a new growth engine for the next generation, the Department of Biotechnology focuses on biochemistry, microbiology, molecular biology, immunology, and bioengineering etc., concentrating on cultivation of practical manpower demanded by industries by combining experiment and lecture
Students of the Department of Physical Therapy will obtain a license as a physical therapist through a national examination after graduating from the Department of Physical Therapy, and enter university hospital, general hospital, hospital, oriental medicine hospital, clinic, rehabilitation center, special school, health center, health care center, sports team, sports center, sanatorium, welfare center for the disabled, related industry etc.
It nurtures Class 1 emergency rescuers who can prevent death or perpetual damage due to diseases or accidents and perform first aid treatment in medical clinics. Students acquire qualification certificates as BLS provider, ACLS provider and skin scuba and take courses to promote qualities as such service providers for medical institutions. This department fosters Class 1 emergency rescuers who can work as emergency rescuers in fire departments or ER, as marine police officers, in correctional institutions, National Park Management Corporation or Korea Airport Corporation.
To nurture special teachers for children with professionalism and on-site availability, this department cultivates special teachers for children with qualities and attitudes as teachers covering expertise, systematic teaching, disability risk infants and instruction of disabled infants, class operating method and support for families of children with disabilities through processes such as theory lessons, onsite service, education practice etc.
